Barts Health NHS Trust was managing an RTT Patient Tracking List (PTL) of over 120,000 pathways — a scale that made manual validation increasingly unsustainable. The existing approach was time-consuming, expensive, and unable to keep pace with the volume of activity.
Solution
To address this, Barts introduced ROVA — MBI’s AI-driven document reading solution — integrated into their existing LUNA Enterprise platform. ROVA’s intelligent classifiers were deployed to identify discharges, follow-ups, clock stops, and medication events hidden within unstructured clinical documents.
Within the first eight weeks, ROVA flagged 11,500 pathways for potential removal, with a verified accuracy rate of 92%. This was over 3.5× more efficient than manual validation alone.
